Secondary & Senior Secondary

A warm welcome to the Secondary School. We cater to the needs of students from classes VI to X based on the guidelines of the C.B.S.E. Our educational programme is designed to build on and enhance the skills acquired in the primary school. Special care is taken to empower students to discover and nurture their special talents and passions.

Students are groomed to appear in various competitions according to their aptitude. Provision for taking various entrance exams is made. Professionals from various fields- medicine, engineering and commerce- address our students and offer guidelines and provide a stimulus for successfully clearing these exams.

House System

The House System of the School (Prerna, Pragati, Prayas and Prakash) is deeply entrenched and occupies a prominent place in the School Life of the students. These houses essentially are the backbone of the discipline of the school. Various inter house activities provide the members of the houses opportunities for healthy competition amongst them to show case their latent talent in multiple disciplines like cultural, academics and sports.

Points are awarded to houses throughout the year for co-curricular activities, games and sports. At the end of the year, the house gaining the highest number of points is awarded a Running Trophy.

Besides, the Houses contribute in maintaining cleanliness, conducting assemblies, organizing celebrations on festivals and special days and are instrumental in imparting valuable lessons of teamwork, cooperation and sportsman spirit. We keep organizing such activities to boost up the confidence of our students.

School Council

'A great leader inspires people, brings them together and coalesces them to meet the same goals.' Bringing these words alive, we maintain a very strong Apex Body comprising the Head Boy, Head Girl, Council Members and a team of prefects, holding various portfolios representing the multifarious fields of work in the school. The selected students are entrusted with responsibilities after they have been administered an oath in the Investiture Ceremony. Student Council is appointed both at primary and secondary level.

Sports

"The best part of the game is the opportunity to play"

Every student at K.L.I.School undergoes a general fitness programme that includes daily yoga classes. The skill-set of each student is identified and nurtured, and students are given opportunities to excel, and join the school sports team. Apart from organizing inter-school and inter-house competitions, the school takes part in state and national level sports events.

The school has a large and talented sports faculty consisting of seven full time PTI's at present.

All students are expected to take part in the sport and fitness programme. The School provides an extensive sports and physical education programme.

Facilities include large playing fields and court for basketball and badminton. Facilities and trainers are available for Badminton, Basketball, Football, chess, Cricket, Karate, Aerobics, Judo, Table Tennis and Skating.

Coaches are on the lookout for promising talent from a very early age, in order to provide a carefully designed short and long term training regime to bring out the very best in each individual.

Faculty

The backbone of the school is its faculty. Each faculty member is both a teacher and a scholar, an expert in his/ her own field. They bind the entire teaching fraternity imbibing the Culture and Ethos of the school. Besides regular teaching, they engage students in a variety of other ways. They conduct assemblies, daily and special. They help bring out school publications, arrange and participate in cultural shows, and arrange visits to and from the school. They also occupy prominent posts like House Wardens, Class Representatives, Environment Council Heads, Editorial board, Cultural Dept. or sports, to name a few. This helps establish lifelong relationship and professional mentorship that shapes students' lives and careers. Students learn through teacher's instruction, group activities and field trips. Seminars and workshops also form an integral part of the school curriculum. Teachers use a student-centered style which instills confidence, initiative and the development of critical and analytical skills. Our teachers don't just transact the curriculum, they make it lively and hence generate an enthusiasm for learning.
