With this vision a special assembly was conducted on the occasion of World Health Day. Multifarious activities like laughter yoga and other methods were introduced to highlight the significance on the issue of good health & wellbeing. School Principal emphasized on good & healthy eating habits that include balanced diet, drinking water & importance of sports & exercises. He insisted on physical activities such as yoga & meditation for good health.

 


“A journey of thousand miles begins with a small step”

A special welcome assembly was conducted for the students to mark the beginning of session 2019-20 with great zeal and enthusiasm. A new beginning means a fresh look at the future and all wonderful possibilities it holds. It focused on the qualities such as importance of time, perseverance, being organized and disciplined and being a good learner which will help the students in their school life. The assembly commenced with beseeching the almighty followed by varied dance performances. School principal welcomed the students and showered his pearls of wisdom.

 

Medhansh bags Hindustan Olympiad.

“While most are dreaming of success, winners wake-up and work hard to achieve.” Our very own prodigy Medhansh Teotia of class V-H made us proud by winning the Hindustan Olympiad. He has been adjudged as the District Topper of class V and received a cheque of Rs. 2100/- at CCS University.

 

Good Luck Assembly for class X

A special Good Luck assembly was conducted on 25 February 2019 for the students of class X who are all set to appear in their Board Examination starting from 02 March 2019. The assembly began with a motivational song. The Assistant Head Boy- Tarush Agarwal and Assistant Head Girl Kripa Agarwal welcomed all students by applying chandan tilak on their forehead. Principal Sir blessed all students and also gave them success mantras for the exams and wished them the very best for their stressful days. The entire teaching faculty and staff wished them luck and prayed to God Almighty for their success. The Deputy Head Boy, Subit Shekhar Panda on behalf of class X expressed gratitude towards all the supporting and motivating teachers.

 

Paying homage to the Nation’s Martyrs

The entire nation stands united in the fight against the forces of terror and evil. In order to pay tribute to the martyrs of Pulwama in Jammu & Kashmir and pray for strength to their families our school organized a special assembly today, i.e. 15 February 2019. Our students and teachers observed 2 minutes silence and lighted candles to pay a tribute to the brave souls.

 

“Basant Panchmi Celebration” 

‘Basant Panchmi’, an occasion which marks the advent of the spring season and is also celebrated to worship Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge and wisdom. The III to V wing of the school, assembled on 8th Feb 2019 together to pray and attain blessings from Goddess Saraswati to reach the epitome of knowledge. On this special day, books were donated to the poor children and balloons with inspirational quotes were flown away in the sky. Students were made aware of the importance of this day. A kite flying activity was conducted to add further fun to the festivities of the day.
The tiny cherubs of KG wing were all clad in yellow attire and enjoyed special tiffins with Boondi Laddoos and Basanti Pulao. The entire school reverberated to gaiety and festivity as colourful kites made fill the sky look vibrant. 

 

Psychological Workshop organized for XI Class

A workshop was organized by Psychiatrist Dr. Samyak Jain on “Addictive Behaviours – Adolescent stage” on 5 Feb 2019 under the British Council Activity Confab. Certain psychological facts were shared to make the students aware of this delicate & sensitive adolescent stage.

 

Three students from school participated in Guinness Book of World Records.

The Shivganga Roller Skating Club Belgaum, Karnataka got registered as the largest Roller Skating Lesson group of 548 people on the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ Three students Milan Prakash Singh, Parth Tyagi and Saksham Gaur along with Mohd. Naieem as their coach participated in the event held between 9 November 2018 and 13 November 2018.

Kudos to our exuberant and zealous skaters for their non-stop skating achievement of 72 hours.

 

Shiven Malhotra to play Raj Singh Dungarpur Under -14 Tournament

The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association has selected only one candidate from our school i.e. Shiven Malhotra (Class VIII-C) a right arm off spinner to play in the Raj Singh Dungarpur Under -14 Tournament. Shiven is a budding cricketer for our school who balances his passion and studies well. The school feels immense pride on his selection and wishes him luck for forthcoming tournament.

 

Maths Mania

The students of III to V wing enthusiastically participated in the Maths Mania on 30 January 2019. Class III, IV and V participated in Oval, Rectangle and cuboid activity respectively. Students learnt a lot of concepts by doing. The winning team was awarded with Gold medals and certificates. All the students enjoyed the activity.

 

Exceptional Achievement in NCO 2018

A proud moment indeed for K. L. International as Pariksha Agarwal (X) secured All India III Rank & won Rs. 7000/- cash prize and Vansh Mahajan of class XI secured 16th A I Rank & won a cash prize of Rs. 1000/-.

 

Show & Talk Activity

The tiny cherubs of KG wing participated zealously in the ‘Show & Talk activity’ on 28 January 2019, where they had to bring an article from home and had to talk about it in 5 – 6 lines describing the article and its utility in our daily life. Children spoke on varied items like car, doll, fruits or simple objects like a sharpener. This activity helped them to overcome their shyness and speak confidently in front of their own class. All students displayed great confidence and learnt new words enhancing their vocabulary. 

 

Farewell Function - ‘Bon Voyage Carnival’ (Session 2018-19)

A zestful and adoring class XI organized a farewell function - ‘Bon Voyage Carnival’ for the students of class XII on 26 January 2019. The programme commenced with carnival style welcome by the students of class XI.
A rocking performance by the school band- a curtain raiser set the mood of the day. A short film on the fond memories of school life filled the entire audience with nostalgia. A scintillating, lively dance performance by the students gave an apt portrayal of a day in student’s life, mesmerizing the audience. Then came the most awaited event of the day – the skit on school days by the vibrant, dazzling and radiant boys and girls who won the hearts of all. It was a treat to see the dainty damsels and smart lads walk past the stage with grace and frit. The titles distributed were of Mr. KLI  &  Ms. KLI to Siddharth Sharma & Nandini Pankaj, Mr. & Ms. Farewell titles were taken by Dennis Manga & Somya Agarwal respectively. Mr. Discipline Award went to Shishir Garg, Naman Saxena and Medhansh. Ms. Discipline Award went to Vanshika Sharma, Pragati Narang and Ritika. All the winners were honoured in a glittering ceremony on the stage.
The celebration and jubilation reached its zenith with an electrifying dance performance by the students of the school. Mr. Manmeet Khurana, Director of School, Mr. Harneet Khurana honorable member of management, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar, Principal, and other august gathering applauded the efforts of everyone involved for the day and spoke with great fervour to the students of class XII and exhorted them to work hard for the best results and blessed them – singing an emotional melody of yester years.
The day ended with reverberating dances on the floor to tuneful and jazzy music. It was indeed the most cherishable and memorable day for the students and all present for the function.

 

70th Republic Day

The 70th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at the school campus on 26 January 2019. The whole campus reverberated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm and was bedecked in the colours of Tiranga. Principal Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar hoisted the National Flag amidst the school fraternity singing the National anthem. This was followed by a short cultural show that filled every heart with pride for their glorious country! The choir group presented a patriotic song. Students enthusiastically performed dance, skit etc.
The Grande Finale of the program draw a thunderous applause from the audience. The school environs today were transformed into Rajpath as our four house marched in unison in the Republic Day Parade. 
Honourable Principal in his address urges the students to uphold the honour and integrity, diversity and uniqueness of the nation. He also congratulated the students of all wings for putting up the fantastic shows.
The students dispersed after savouring sweets with the image of the fluttering tricolor in their minds.

 

ANCQ awarded 95 students with Certificates of Excellence and badges

ANCQ, an International Chemistry Quiz conducted every year by Royal Australian Chemical Institute acknowledge the untiring and exceptional inputs by students in the ANCQ Quiz held on 28 August 2018. Five (5) students namely Shivank Maheshwari (XII), Pranav Mittal (X), Vyomesh Goel, Tarush Agarwal and Ujjwal Semwal of class IX have been awarded with the Excellence Award. 27 students received high Distinction Badges while 38 students were awarded with Distinction Certificates and 16 students were felicitated with Credit Awards. The school congratulates all for their outstanding performance. 

 

KLI Principal honoured with Leadership Award

On 24 January 2019, Scool Stars honoured the visionary educators of the country for their passionate and dedicated contribution in grooming the students talent and for creating awareness about the significant role of cultural and environment aspects. In the glittering felicitation ceremony, 75 multi-skilled principals of the schools from the country were bestowed for their proficient organizing, planning and executing leadership in co-curricular education. Mr. S. Shekhar, the versatile Principal of the school, was endowed with National Leadership Award at Hotel Emperial in New Delhi for his endeavor to take school leadership to the next level and his outstanding contribution for innovative perspective towards co-curricular education 2018-19. He has been applauded for providing firmament to the young stars where they can shine and illuminate their skills.

Achievement of ex-student Apoorv Garg

The school takes immense pride in the achievements of all its alumni and if it is about the head boy 2016-17, it is an even bigger joy. Our ex-student Apoorv Garg has been selected for a Research Program in Italy on his unique concept “Concentrated Solar Power” He is currently a student of SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, India wherein because of his extraordinary efforts he got selected for very noteworthy internship programme in places like Continental types, BSES Delhi and Escorts limited. We wish our dear alumni the very best in life. 

 

A visit to Japanese Language Institute 

Educational trips offer an opportunity for a rich immersion experience, and a tremendous way to facilitate learning. A group of our students visited the Japan Foundation, Delhi under the British Council on 18 January 2019. Activity “Let’s be friends (India and Japan)” where they particularly visited the Japanese Language Institute and learnt about the Kanji script, its various strokes. They also performed the Japanese calendar making activity at the institute. Our students got an opportunity to visit the library and Mottainai Exhibition in the gallery.

 

School Quiz League (SQL)

Another proud moment for our school as our team of quiz whizzes Arnav Kumar (VII) and Aditya Chaurasia (VII) won the first prize at School Quiz League (SQL) India’s biggest school programme at the regional level held at Raghav Global School, Noida. Emerging as winners leaving behind 1.85 lacks students in prelim round, facing and winning the regional round and qualifying for the National round is indeed a matter of great celebration.  Five junior and five senior teams participated from our school on 16 January 2019 to compete with other 30 teams of the region. From our senior wing Kirti Tyagi (XII) and Sparsh Rastogi (IX) bagged the third position. Kudos to our super achievers and all the best to Arnav and Aditya for their final National Round, to be held at LPU Jalandhar later this year. 

 

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM)

Khushi Agarwal (XI-B) and Sparsh Rastogi (IX-D) brought laurels to the school by qualifying the West Zone State Level Competition held at Amity International School of the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) which is a national program for educating and popularizing science among school students of VI to XI standards competing among 126 students from the west zone. Only 17 students were selected and out of them both bagged the second position. They were awarded with a trophy, certificate and a cash prize of  Rs.3000/-. Our prodigies now, are all set to appear for the National Round to be held at Hyderabad on 18 and 19 May 2019. The school wholeheartedly supports and congratulates our super achievers.

Christmas Carnival

Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting, but seeking the spirits of Christmas, the junior wing of K.L. International school celebrated the festival on 24 Dec. 2018 with gaiety. The entire campus was festooned with colourful streamers and balloons and a brightly decorated Christmas Tree. Several exciting activities were put in place like Santa Socks Decoration, Tree Decoration, Plastic Bottle Waste Decoration etc. Christmas carnival fun games added to the fervor of the festivity. Melodious carols tuneful dances on jungle bells appended the joy to the carnival. The spree of the celebration came to an end with a scrumptious feast of popcorn and candies. School Principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar shared his beautiful thoughts and emphasized on the spirit of sharing and caring.  


 

 

Vaccinated for Measles and Rubella Virus

All students from classes LKG to X have been vaccinated for Measles and Rubella virus under the initiative of Government of India on 17 & 18 of December 2018. The parents brought their wards on assigned timings on the due date got them vaccinated by a team of doctors, and were also provided certificate of vaccination. The school whole heartedly supported the initiative and took utmost care in its smooth conduction.

 

English Recitation Competition

The students of KG Wing enthusiastically participated in English Recitation Competition on 11 December 2018. Students of LKG & UKG recited beautiful poems on varied topics like say no to plastic bags, traffic lights etc. Participants were judged on clarity of speech, confidence level, presentation, expressions, costume props etc. The competition was a great learning experience.

 

CBSE National Judo and Skating Championship

It is indeed a proud moment for the school as its students are scaling new heights and making the school’s name shine at National Level. Leaving behind 1100 students, Priyanshi Sharma of class XI-H won the U-19 Girls Bronze Medal at CBSE National Judo Championship 2018 at Sonipat, Haryana whereas, Pranav Gupta of class XI-D also secured a Bronze medal in U-19 category of CBSE National Skating Championship held at Raipur Chhattisgarh on 30 November 2018. School expresses extreme elation and looks forward for another such achievements in the time to come.

Theatre Show ‘ Sukhmanch’

“Theatre is a gift from gods for mankind’s education and entertainment” Theatre speaks in languages and dialects that children understand and relish. There is no aspect of life, no topic that theatre cannot come in terms with and render creativity. Hence, in order to provide children with that kind of learning experience our school invited ‘Sukhmanch’ group from Delhi to come and perform on our school stage on 26 November 2018. Ms. Shilpi Marwaha the director of the plays expressed her happiness on performing in the school. She and her group urged all the students to follow eco-friendly measures. The group performed two heart– touching plays namely ‘Chief Ki Dawat’ and ‘Court Martial’. The audience was spell bound by the fantastic and spirited performances of the group. The entire experience of students was very enriching and entertaining. The school looks forward to such wonderful shows in future too.

 


EFFERVESCENCE – THE AWARD CEREMONY 2018

Keeping alive the tradition of excellence and awarding the high academic achievers, K.L. International School held its Annual Award Ceremony ‘EFFERVESCENCE-2018’on Saturday, 24 November 2018 on the esthetically decorated premises of the school. It was an endeavour to acknowledge and honour students for their ongoing saga of glorious scholastic and co-scholastic achievements in the school for the academic year 2017-18. The programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by the esteemed Chief Guest Shri Mukesh Chandra, ADM City, Meerut, and the Guest of Honour Shri Kuldeep Singh Lamba, Chairman, K. L. International School. Gave away the certificates to the meritorious students for their academic excellence. Cash prize of Rs. 11,000/- Rs. 7500/- and Rs. 5100/- was conferred upon the students who secured First, Second and Third positions in the CBSE Board Examination 2018 and made the school and parents proud. Cash prize of Rs. 2500/- was awarded to all fifteen students who cleared the First Round of NTSE examination. Cash prize of Rs. 5100/- was also awarded to second stage qualifiers of NTSE Round–II. The Judokas who reached CBSE National Judo were awarded the bronze medal. School Principal, Mr. S. Shekhar presented the School’s Annual Report and took pride in achievements of the students. The Best House Trophy was bagged by Prayas House and Second position was secured by Pragati House. Students mesmerized the audience by presenting numerous dance numbers, school song and tuneful school band which spellbound the audience. Amidst heavy applause, the ceremony was inherently a spectacular show, conferring strength and encouragement upon every individual student. The chief guest in address, applauded the efforts of the prize winners and encouraged them to do better. The Chairman Mr. Kuldeep Singh Lamba congratulated all awardees and expressed his elation on the school’s progress.

 
 

Phuhaar

Yet another pious calling to help the needy & poor children from slum area, “Phuhaar” was organised by K. L. International School in collaboration with Hindustan Hindi Newspaper on 24 November 2018 in the school campus. Our esteemed guests Additional Commissioner Mr. Ranjeet Roy, Guest of Honour Mr. Ranvijay Singh, Additional SP City, Chairman K. L. International School Mr. K. S. Lamba, Vice-Chairman Mr. Tejinder Khurana, Director Mr. Manmeet Khurana, Mr. Harneet Khurana, Principal Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar, Chief Editor Mr. P. Sharma and Ms. Anita Rana graced the occasion & bestowed their blessings on 150 orphans & 15 visually impaired students from blind school.
Health check-up & an awareness camp was also organised for them with a colourful presentation of cultural programme. Trek suits & Dental kits were distributed to make them aware about health & hygiene followed by lunch from KLI School Management. The programme was culminated by distributing mementos to the guests.  The guests appreciated KLI family for such a noble cause. 

 
 

Career Counselling Session (IS-UK Education Counselling Day)

A Career Counselling Session (IS-UK Education Counselling Day) was organised on 20 November 2018 on the school premises for the students of classes X, XI & XII by Mr. Love Jain and the delegates from various UK universities.The session focussed on the various career choices and the road map to achieve them. It encompassed discussions on aptitude, interest, intelligence and personality which helps to map the scholars’ profile. The criteria for admissions both in India and abroad were discussed. Queries by students related to different professional choices were also addressed by the resource person. The session was a very informative, interactive and enriching for the students. 

 
 

18th Annual Inter School Debate Competition

To bring out the best of students, KLI hosted the 18th Inter School Debate Competition in collaboration with Rotary Club, Saket, Meerut on the topic “ Freedom of Press & Media has done more harm than good to the Indian Society”.10 schools participated & it was a spectacular event with oratory at its best. It was indeed a riveting debate with a crisscross of opinions and apt rebuttal and the speakers spoke with full zest and gusto. The interjectors posed thought providing questions and it was prone to be exceptionally coruscating. St. Mary’s bagged the Overall Winner’s Trophy. The second position was bagged by the Adhyyan followed by K. L. International at third position, and also won the Best Speaker’s Trophy. School Management & Principal congratulated the winners & lauded the efforts of the participants for commendable performances, schools and teachers for grooming the students.  

 
 

Sanskrit Debate Competition

Yet another feather in the cap of the K. L. International School added as the students participated in the Sanskrit Competition organised by Chaudhary Charan Singh University during ‘National Vyas Samaroh’ to explore more on introspection and not blame game. Arushi bagged the first prize and Ishita bagged the second whereas our school team was honoured with the overall Trophy, certificates and the cash prize. Students presented a zealous & mesmerizing Ganesh Vandana and a song which left the audience spell bound and the performance was highly appreciated by all.

 
 

Children's Day Celebration

“There is no garden as beautiful as childhood”. Every child is a different kind of flower; together they make the world a beautiful garden. The day of 14 November i.e. Chacha Nehru’s birthday was celebrated with gusto in the school. A movie show was organized for Kindergarten students wherein they enjoyed the screening of ‘The Jungle Book’. Students of classes I & II dressed as Nehruji walked the school campus spreading the message of love. The teachers organized a special assembly for the students in which a plethora of activities like skits, dances and songs were performed to enthrall the students. A Magic Show was scheduled for classes III – V to make their day a memorable one. Students of classes VI to VIII enjoyed hoola-hoops, tongue twisters and memorization games. Teachers of senior wing put up Children’s Day cards to convey blessings and best wishes for their future endeavours. The entire school reverberated with exhilaration as it has revived a child’s heart in every person.

 
 

 

Quiz Whiz-2018

After the phenomenal success of ITS Quiz Whiz 2017 our team once again bagged the I prize at the “Quiz Whiz-2018” organized by ITS Ghaziabad on 2 November 2018. Our team of three students viz Vilas Tyagi XII(Sc.), Kirti Tyagi XII (Sc.) and Ashutosh Baliyan XII (Sc.) won a cash prize of Rs 51000/- and the Winner’s Trophy leaving behind 300 other schools. The school feels proud on their victory and wishes for a hat-trick by winning the quiz in 2019 as well.

 
 

Diwali Celebration 

The festival of lights came alive in the school through varied celebrations in all the wings. The KG Wing of our school on 2 November 2018 participated in Paper Lantern Decoration Completion with great fanfare and excitement. The whole wing wore a festive look with Diyas and Lanterns adorning the corridors. The function began with ethical dance on Ganesh Vandana followed by other cultural dances. In I & II Wing, children prepared decorative Ganeshas with paper, used CDs, shells, clay etc. to add to the festivities of Diwali. The effervescent students of classes III-V wing participated enthusiastically in Rangoli Making Competition bringing forth their creativity and aesthetic sense. The entire floor of the wing vividly displayed beautiful peacock, Ganesha and floral designs. The Diwali fervour was furthered by VI to VIII wing through active participation in Bandhanwar Making Competition and the entire IX to XII wing pledged to contribute in a drive for cracker free and safe Diwali.

 
 

 

“We Commit” Competition

Our team bagged the Cock House Trophy at Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhayay “We Commit” Competition on 1 November 2018. Kritika Malkhania won I prize for her self-composed poetry.  

 

 

Masquerade – Fancy Dress Competition

Yet another moment to rejoice as our skilful actors bag the II prize in Masquerade – Fancy Dress Competition held at St. John’s Senior Secondary School, Meerut on 31 October 2018. Shivank Maheshwari and Aryan Goel of class XII-A and XI-D respectively depicted the topic “All that Glitters is not Gold” vividly and brought laurels to the school.

 

 

Sanskarshala Activity a seminar on environment 

Under the series of Sanskarshala Activity a seminar on environment “Behtar Paryavaran Behtar Jeevan” on 31 October 2018 in VI to VIII wing. A team of members from MIET presented a PowerPoint presentation. The seminar was highly informative and students gained a lot out of it. The session ended with a quiz.

 



Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

“Rashtriya Ekta Diwas”, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel our first President was observed with full vigour and enthusiasm in our school on 31 October 2018. A special assembly was organised by VI to VIII wing under the ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ ideology. Students paid their tribute to the Iron Man of India through beautiful poems, songs, etc. They also took an oath for unity.

 
 

 

Star Trek

Team KLI won I position Trophy and Rs.9000 cash prize at ‘Star Trek’ held at City Vocational Public School on 29 and 30 October 2018. Our students participated in Scrabble, Solo dance & Hurdle Race, Quiz, Solo Song, Poem, Speech and Coding. We secured I Position in solo dance & poem, second position in speech & coding and III position in Solo dance.

Bharat Ko Jano Quiz Competition

Our seasoned team has always brought laurels for the school and this time too, our team secured II position at the Final Round of Bharat Ko Jano Quiz Competition held at Shamli on 28 October 2018. Our senior students Sparsh Rastogi of class IX and Vilas Tyagi of class XII bagged the prize for the school. Prior to this round on 24 October 2018 in Round 2 We secured I position in both Senior as well as Junior category. The tough quiz was divided into three stages. First round was a written qualifying round and the other two were oral rounds. Immense pride and applaud to our super performers.

 


Music Session by Mr. Samyak Jain

An interactive session with upcoming & rising music composer Mr. Samyak Jain was organised in our school on 27 October 2018 in the school auditorium for the students who have special interest in music. Mr. Samyak Jain guided the students informing them about various career options and trade trends in music industry.

 

 

CBSE North Zone Skating Competition

Another momentous event to rejoice for, as our super skaters won 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze medals at the CBSE North Zone Skating Competition held at Sapphire International School, Noida from 24 October to 27 October 2018. It is indeed a very well deserved victory as our students proved their mettle competing with 2500 students of 192 schools. School feels elated and congratulates Pranav Gupta (XI-D), Harsh Pratap Tomar (XI-D), Vedang (VIII-G) and Akshat Mishra (III-B).

 

 

Dussehra (KG and I & II wing)

Through a very traditional special Assembly on 16 October 2018, the students of KG and I & II wing are spreading the joy and indicating that festivities are just round the corner. Dussehra was celebrated in a unique way in the respective wings through a special assembly where “the victory of good over evil was well depicted through the enactment of the scenes from Ramayana. Garba dance was the highlight of the programme.

 

 

Special Assembly on birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

A Special Assembly in Primary wing marked the occasion of the birth anniversary of former President and missile man of our country Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on 15 October 2018 all students of the wing gathered to pay a special tribute to the great scientist whose life has been an inspiration to the nation’s youth. Anecdotes from his life were also narrated which provided an insight to the dynamic life of this inspirational persona.

The K. G and Primary wing of our school observed the “Global Hand Wash day” on 15 October 2018. Students were made aware of the importance of regular hand wash particularly before and after meals. They were also demonstrated about how to help proper sanitation and personal hygiene. This programme was a part of an initiative from Amar Ujala “Swachh Rahein Swastha Rahein”.

 

 

17th All India Deshbandhu Gold Cup Memorial English Debate 2018

Another precious crystal of achievement added to the K. L. International School crown as our super debaters once again proved their supremacy in 17th All India Deshbandhu Gold Cup Memorial English Debate 2018 held at Bijnor on 13 October 2018 in Modern Era Public school. Aviral Khanduja and Vrinda bagged the “Best Speakers’ Trophy” and brought back home the “Gold Cup” winning the First position in the debate competition. Leaving behind all 25 schools in the battle of wits our students made us proud by their excellent oratory skills.

Student Visited Adarsh Traffic Park” & “Road Safety Auditorium”

40 students from classes IV and V visited “Adarsh Traffic Park” & “Road Safety Auditorium” at Dev Nagri Inter College, Delhi Road, Meerut on 13 October 2018. The resource person, Mr. Amit Tiwari enlightened the students with the importance of traffic rules, the sign board and milestones etc. Students gained a lot of knowledge about following safety rules on road by them and their parents. Students also took a pledge that they will always follow the traffic rules.

 

 

 

GENESIS-2018 (An Inter Institutional Science Fest)

Applause and appreciation for our team KLI for winning the “Star Innovation” trophy in Genesis 2018(An Inter Institutional Science Fest) organized by IMS, Bioscience Dept., Ghaziabad on 12th Oct. 2018. Our team participated in many events namely science quiz, Biosplash, Scientoon, oral presentation and extempore. Our extempore team bagged the 1st position, the science project team secured 2nd position whereas the scientoon team won the 3rd position. The competition provided a great learning experience to our students.

 

 

International Girls’ Day

“Without progress of girls, there can be no real progress.” On Thursday, 11 October 2018, a special assembly was conducted to celebrate International Girls’ Day. Students of class XII delivered speeches in Hindi and English languages on the significance of this day and about the role of women in India after Independence. The recital of poem on the achievement of women enthralled everyone present in the Auditorium. A documentary on Nobel Prize winner Malala was shown to spur the campaign started by our present Prime Minister on “Beti Bachao Beti Padao”. Mr. S. Shekhar, Principal of the school, stressed on the importance of the birth of girl child in a family and spoke about the growth of women empowerment in India and concluded the assembly.

 

Inter Class Bhajan Singing Competition

To observe the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, an Inter Class Bhajan Singing Competition was organized for the students of classes XI & XII on 11 October 2018 in the school auditorium. Students selected favourite bhajans of Gandhiji like Vaishnava Jana Toh, Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram and of all the religions. The young singers made the audience lost in the world of spirituality and divinity through their melodious bhajans. The artists spectacularly performed as many as 10 bhajans before the audience. Avantika Singh (XI-D) bagged first position, Nandini Mathur (XII-B) stood second and Shreya Sharma (XII-F) secured the third position.

 

Diet Plan Activity on the theme “SATVIK GANDHI”

Gandhiji’s 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations went in a unique way by the Home science students of classes XI–B & XI–E when they put all their creativity and culinary skills at display enthusiastically & participated in Diet Plan Activity on the theme “SATVIK GANDHI” on Tuesday, 09 October 2018 in the Home Science lab. The delicacies comprised of sprouts bucket, fruity basket, innovative dalias and simple satvik main course food.

 

Bharat Vikas Parishad Singing Competition (2nd Round)

It is indeed a proud moment for us as our soulful singers reached the Second round of Bharat Vikas Parishad Singing Competition and attained the second position in the event on 08 October 2018. Competing with fourteen other teams comprising of 112 students, our team was able to reach the second position in the state level competition held at IIA Hall, Meerut.

 

Bharat Vikas Parishad Singing Competition (1st Round)

Competing with 7 schools of Meerut zone, our team of singers qualified the first round of Bharat Vikas Parishad Singing Competition on 4 October 2018 at Bhagwan Palace, Abu Lane, Meerut. Kudos to our super singers for bagging the I Prize and moving ahead towards the II Round of the competition.

 

Career Counselling Session

On 08 October 2018 students of classes X and XII attended an eye opening Career Counselling Session conducted by the CBSE resource person- Ms. Gitanjali Kumar, a renowned counsellor and career guidance expert. Our students were benefitted by the discussions in the session like Examination stress and its remedies, time management, importance of balanced diet, meditation & yoga. She majorly stressed that career option should be choosen by interest and aptitude of the child and not by any other influence. The session was indeed very helpful for our students.

 

Special Assembly (I to VIII Wing)

A week-long series of activities related to 150th Birth Anniversary celebrations culminated on Saturday, 06 October 2018 in a special assembly of the students from classes I to VIII. All participants clad in white attires paid a special tribute to Gandhiji by his favourite song “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram”. Students enthusiastically participated in skit, songs and dance. The three monkeys of Gandhiji were also brought forth to speak Gandhiji’s thoughts and ideologies. The happy faces clearly indicated the students’ love towards the “Father of the Nation.”

 

Gandhiji’s Birth Anniversary

Adding to the celebrations of Gandhiji’s 150 Birth Anniversary, classes VI to VIII participated enthusiastically in the Hasthkala Competition wherein they made handicrafts using natural products. They made products which represented the state of UP, Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. The artistic skills of our students forth through their creativity, taking the Gandhian philosophy of self-reliance further VI to VIII students also participated in a “Flash mob” with a dance performance spreading the message of swachh Bharat. The students of III to V wing very actively participated in the Declamation Competition presenting speeches delivered by Gandhiji once. They all were dressed up in Gandhiji’s attire and getup to make the occasion special.

 

1st District Meerut Yoga Sports Championship 2018-19

The yoga champs of our school won the III position winning the Bronze medal in the 1st District Meerut Yoga Sports Championship 2018-19 on 2 October 2018 at Mount Litera Zee School competing against 180 students from various reputed schools of Meerut. We successfully bagged the “Championship Trophy” in the boys’ category and Bronze in girls’ category.

 

Inter-State Karate Championship 2018

The super karate kids of our school have done it again by winning 5 gold, 11 silver and 8 bronze medals at the Inter-State Karate Championship 2018 organised by Self Defence Karate Do Welfare Association of India at D Block, Shastri Nagar on 2 October 2018. We competed with 170 other contestants and emerged as winners.

 

The Patriotic Walk

As an activity in the week long Gandhi Jayanti Celebration the K.G. wing students enjoyed “The Patriotic Walk” on 03 October 2018 and on the same day, classes I & II students participated in “Main Bhi Gandhi” Kavya Path Pratiyogita in a special assembly conducted in their wing. The theme for the K.G. event was to be dressed up as freedom fighter and walk the ramp as enthusiastically as the patriots themselves once did. The highlight of the event were students dressed up as Rani Lakshmi Bai, Bhikaji Cama, Subhash Chandra Bose, Begum Hazrat Mahal etc. The judges not only considered their dress and confidence but also judged them on their clarity of speech. Adding up to the series of celebrations classes IX & X students presented a short skit on “Gandhiji Ki Mann Ki Baat” wherein they vividly brought forth the inspirational moments of Gandhiji’s life and also indicated Gandhiji’s vision for his nation. The Director of the school congratulated the students for their potential and success.

 

Gandhi Jayanti

Literary Club celebrated Gandhi Jayanti in their own unique way by presenting a PowerPoint Presentation on the journey of Gandhi ji as a leader and the Father of the Nation followed by a questionnaire. The session was convened by Shivank Maheshwari of XII-A and Parv Singhal of IX-C. The session was interactive & informative and it encouraged the students about simple living and high thinking.

 

Head Examiners Meet

CBSE has undergone many procedural changes not only in the framing of curriculum but also in the pattern of evaluating an answer sheet. CBSE Regional office Dehradhun organized Head Examiners’ meeting at K.L. International School, Garh Road, Meerut on 01 October 2018 to discuss the concern areas relating to the evaluation work of Board Examination 2019. A total of 182 Head Examiners from the renowned schools of Meerut participated in the meeting. A devotional ambience prevailed as the programme started with the prayer song ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ to commemorate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi during which two students drew the caricature of Father of the Nation to salute his principles and values.

The Vice-Chairman of the school, Mr. Tejindra Khurana welcomed Mr. Ranber Singh, RO, CBSE, Dehradun by presenting him Charkha a symbol of ‘Truth, Non-violence, Honesty’. The other dignitaries, Dr. Praggya M. Singh, Joint Secretary CoE, CBSE, Dehradun was honoured by Mr. Manmeet Khurana, Director of the school. Principal Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar in his address upheld the improvised skills of teaching methodology wherein a child can bloom naturally.

Shri Ranber Singh, RO, mentioned about the role and responsibilities of Centre Superintendent and Head Examiners. The resource person, Dr. Praggya M. Singh, Joint Secretary, categorically stated and elaborated the various steps involved in the entire process of conducting the fair and error free Board Exams for classes X & XII students. The meeting also dealt on various kinds of challenges faced by the Head Examiners and the ways to managed them effectively. The dignitaries; Mr. Ranber Singh, Dr. Praggya M. Singh and Mr. H.M. Rout were acknowledged with mementos by the Vice-Chairman of the school. The meeting was interactive, interesting and definitely an eye opening session for the Head Examiners.The splendid event was concluded with the National Anthem.

 

Poster Making Competition (I-II Wing)

Under the week long celebrations of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on the spot “Poster Making Competition” was organised in I & II wing on 29 September 2018. A unique duo of parent – student team enthusiastically created wonders on paper as they made posters on the Theme ‘Gandhiji’s Swachh India’. The winners were awarded with certificates.

Our students took the “Clean India Initiative” through “Swachhta Ki Pathshala” organised by Dainik Jagran and presided over by Dr. Vishwajeet Bambi on 29 September 2018.

 

150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

Our school will be observing the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in a befitting manner. The school plans a series of programmes to celebrate Gandhiji’s anniversary through week long festivities in the school from 27 August to 9 October 2018. Starting with the KG wing the students would present a Gandhi Gallery and go for a parade fully and enthusiastically celebrating his birthday week. Parent participation added another dimension to the celebration as a parent couple each from LKG & UKG sections were invited to preside over as judges in the Patriotic Walk Competition during the festive week. Students of classes I and II would enjoy Kavya Path and Poster Making Competition. Class III-V students would participate in Declamation and Special Assembly. The middle section i.e. classes VI to VIII will present the glimpses of Gandhi and exhibit their Hastha Kala through art and craft. They would also present a Flash Mob documentary adding up to the celebrations they would also actively participate in singing various songs on Gandhiji’s vision & dream of our nation. A human chain was founded by the students of VI to VIII wing to spread awareness about cleanliness. The senior wing will commemorate Gandhi in their own unique way by presenting the journey of Khadi through various activities and a Solo Bhajan Singing Competition. Last but not the least XI & XII students would talk of Gandhian Thoughts on Health & Diet and would also have a group discussion session on the ideologies of Gandhiji. Principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar would be a part of the celebration too, as he would be taking up ‘Book Reading’ sessions in various assemblies to add another flavour to the festivities.

 

CBSE North Zone-1 Judo Championship 2018-19

Proud moment for school as team participated in CBSE North Zone-1 Judo Championship 2018-19 from 20 to 23 September 2018. We competed with around 1000 students from various schools of our state and were successful in bagging 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 5 Bronze medals. Our team was the proud recipient of the Overall Third position Trophy (17 & 19 (Girls)). The school eagerly awaits CBSE nationals where in the winners of this event would participate. The school wishes them all the best for the nationals

 

Hindi Saptah

Hindi Saptah (Hindi Week) was celebrated in our school. Students of classes IX & X participated in various activities which were to commemorate and respect our national language by using it optimally. Students recited the poems of the great poets: Shri Atal Bihari Bajpayee and Gopal Das ji, profoundly known as Neeraj and also paid tribute to both the poets. Students enacted a small skit on the importance of Hindi language in our lives. The highlight of the programme was the timeline showcased through a power point presentation along with beautiful “Kavya Path”. The students were immensely benefitted by the observance of Hindi Week.

 

Pratibha Sammaan Samaroh

In recognition of the immense toil and excellence in the field of education, the Punjabi Ekta Manch organised a “Pratibha Sammaan Samaroh” and felicitated meritorious students and teachers from various schools of Meerut. The XI & XII toppers as well as four of our zealous teachers on 9 September 2018 in the chamber of Commerce received awards by Honourable Ex. Mayor Shri Harikant Ahluwalia. The school applauds Mrs. Simran Kaur, Ms. Etika Sethi, Mr. Dinesh Narula and Mr. Prateek Arora on receiving this award and congratulates all meritorious students for keeping the school’s name high.

 

Cadet & Junior State Kurash Championship 2018-19

Adding another feather to its decorative cap our team won 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 7 Bronze medals bringing home a total of 9 medals from Cadet & Junior State Kurash Championship 2018-19 for boys & Girls held at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Sonakpur Sports Stadium, Moradabad, U.P. on 6 and 7 September 2018. Our team will soon participate in National Kurash Championship to be held in Karnataka. Looking forward to our team’s great success ahead, we congratulate the winners!

 

UP State Sambo Championship 2018

Our team dares to dream and dares to try! And what a way to run over challenges than to win 9 Gold, 12 Silver and 8 Bronze medals at the UP State Sambo Championship 2018 held on 6 and 7 September 2018 at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Sonakpur Sports Stadium, Moradabad, U.P. Our team would further participate in National Sambo Championship (Patna) in the coming months.

 

CBSE Teachers’ Award 2018

Proud moment for our school as our HOD Sanskrit Dr. Uma Rahul was conferred on the CBSE Teachers’ Award 2018 by Honourable HRD Minister of state Shri Upendra Kushwaha. Dr.

Uma has been awarded with this award for her contribution to the field of education and innovations in classroom teaching. The award consists of a merit certificate, a sash and a cash prize of ` 50,000. The entire staff and management feel elated and congratulate Ms. Uma Rahul on her remarkable achievement.

 

Teachers’ Day

The Teachers’ Day was celebrated with zeal and gaiety on our school premises on 5 September 2018 by the members of the Students’ Council, who put up a great show to pay respect to the teachers. The90 minutes programme consisted of foot tapping songs, groovy dances and fun filled interactions with the teachers. The Head Boy and Head Girl delivered the speech in Hindi and English respectively. The management graced the occasion with their benign presence and paid tribute to the entire teaching fraternity and to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary. In other wings also the day was celebrated with great enthusiasm. A basketball match was organised for the male staff & musical chairs for female teachers in VI to VIII wing. Students of classes III to V wing wished their teachers in their own special way amidst many fun filled games. The day was marked with fun and frolic for teachers to sit, relax and enjoy a movie show followed by a sumptuous lunch arranged by the management of the school.

 

Janmashtami celebration

The birthday of Lord Krishna ‘Janmashtami’ was celebrated with great fervour and gaiety in various wings of our school on 1 September 2018. The children of KG Wing came dressed in traditional attire. A beautiful backdrop was made with little Krishna in the cradle. The I & II wing also has special celebration. To make the event more exhilarating, mothers of KG & I-II wing were invited who danced to the tunes of dandiya. The school gifted them beautiful decorated flutes as a token of appreciation. In III to V wing, an origami competition was organised. Students prepared mesmerising scenes & landscapes like a lake, a forest and ekebana etc. through the collection and orientation of their origami products. It was an Inter house event and overall Prerna House emerged as a winner. The whole school swayed and reverberated in Janmashtami festivities.
